Description
Encouraging the use of renewable energy whenever possible is part of HZL’s priorities even in core business processes. This commitment is also reflected in HZL’s CSR interventions. This is most evident in HZL’s Flagship Nandghar Project, that re-imagines existing Anganwadis (Early Childhood Care Centres) into new age state-of-the art infrastructure having access to e-learning, clean water, sanitation, electricity, etc. All 200 Nandghars being built by HZL during 2017-18 will be powered by solar energy.
Another reflection of this commitment from HZL is the installation of solar street lights in villages that are located near its operations. During 2016-17, 40 solar powered street lights were installed in Kayad , Gagwana & Ghooghra villages in Ajmer. Similarly 100 such lights were installed in Nagri, Ajolia ka Kheda and Putholi Panchayats of Chittorgarh. 8 & 25 solar street lights were installed in villages near operational areas by Zinc Smelter Debari and Zawar Mines respectively in Udaipur.
